Liz appears with her good friend, accordionist Jimmy Keane. A celebration of music—from traditional Irish, Latino, Jewish, Eastern European, and African American neighborhoods—reflecting the vital and diverse mosaic that makes Chicago one of the world’s great cities. Performers will include the Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church mass choir, accordion player Jimmy Keane with fiddler Liz Carroll, Sones de México Ensemble, Stas Venglevski on accordion with mandolinist Misha Litvin, and the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. This program is presented in conjunction with One Book One Northwestern, this year featuring Never a City So Real by Alex Kotlowitz.
